Great articles and photos!
Since I’m in pretty same situation (BBright – Campagnolo – Cervelo R3) I would appreciate letting me know how much of Loctite 7649 is needed to complete this task?
I ask this because 7649 comes in so many different packages: 4ml, 150ml, 500ml…
Also ordered Loctite 680 (10ml) hoping it would be enough.
Best regards from Croatia,
Vlatko
Yes, you need the 7649 to properly cure the adhesive. You won’t need much, 4ml would be the minimum I would think, better to order at least a few in case you need to re-press. Also, I would measure the shell and cups to determine if 680 is necessary. 609 has worked ok for me so far over the last 3000 km. Best
Thanks a lot. I expect to get new R3 next month so don’t be surprised if I contact you again. :)) The thing seem to be dead simple but there are always some doubts…
Best rgds.
Hi again,
Installed cups with not so appropriate tool and ended with not so parallel cups (some 0.2 mm) and I can hear occasional “knock” sound. – Yes, I was pressing cups face :((
Guess I have to do lot of undos and start all over. I do have patience and time, all – except one thing, I don’t have UT-BB140. Not that I don’t want to spend additional EUR 100, I’m just tempted to make this tool over weekend as it would be much faster way for me. I would really appreciate if you can let me know all relevant measures. I do have drawing (jpg) that would help a lot but don’t know how to post it here.
Big thanks in advance for your time and help.
Sure, send me your email and I will supply the measurements.

Thanks!
the best article I have read on the subject, bought a RCA AND WANT TO USE SUPER RECORD CAMPANGNOLO RS.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Wilson, as far as I understand it, there is difference in the Press-Fit BBRight dimensions of the R3 and the Direct-Fit of the R5 VWD and RCA. Appreciate your comments but I think your mileage will differ. You are more than likely going to have to run a Rotor Crank. I have been told the Praxis chaninrings over the Rotor ones are an excellent alternative for Campagnolo users, but sadly, it’s not Super Record RS all around.
Wiliam,
I build the Wilson Rca. We had the option of using an adapter BBright own campagnolo (http://www.campagnolo.com/WW/en/Components/ultratorque_cups) for super record crankset RS ..
I suggested another option, the new campagnolo crankset over-torque. Francis (http://forums.cervelo.com/forums/t/13720.aspx) made this excellent report and I could see that the over-torque is very similar to the rotor 3D + in terms of axle. Then, we use the original BB Rca (rotor) and put the campagnolo over-torque rotor in place, leveraging technology XPSS which facilitates the change of gears.
was perfect!
That is a solution I had not considered ! Great you made it work for you, good riding !
